Portrait Procedure

I prefer working from life, which results in a much better painting, than painting strictly from a photograph.

I prefer at least one 3 hour sitting.  At the beginning I will spend a little time getting to know you. I will take photographs which will help us to decide your pose, and which will give me a record to refer to later as I work on the portrait.  During the drawing process, we will take breaks every 20 minutes. My goal in the first 3 hours, is to get the drawing down and complete as much as possible.  The portrait will be completed later as I work from those photographs, unless you are able to come for another sitting.

We can discuss the location for the sitting on the phone. I prefer the sitting to take place in my studio where I have my equipment, however I will consider travel within the Tulsa area.

Portrait Fees

All portraits are painted on a gallery wrapped canvas which will be painted on all sides.  This allows you to hang them unframed.

Gallery wrapped canvases have a contemporary look and don't require a frame.

If you prefer to frame the portrait, I will need to know this in advance so that your portrait well be painted on a regular stretched canvas.
